Corporate Crunchy

A little bit corporate, a little bit crunchy

Crunchy:

According to urban dictionary, the term “crunchy” is defined as:

“Adjective. Used to describe persons who have adjusted or altered their lifestyle for environmental reasons. Crunchy persons tend to be politically strongly left-leaning and may be additionally but not exclusively categorized as vegetarians, vegans, eco-tarians, conservationists, environmentalists, neo-hippies, tree huggers, nature enthusiasts, etc.

Also used to describe establishments where alternative foods and products are sold, i.e. natural food stores.”

I am not your average crunchy lifestyle blogger though. This blog chronicles my journey from corporate to crunchy entrepreneur. Join me!

I love plant-based cooking and eating, up-cycling old junk into beautiful things for my home, thrifting and fashion!  I recently left corporate life to join my husband in the entrepreneur lifestyle! Every day I learn something new about running a small business and it is exciting and terrifying all at the same time. I also have my side hussles – this little blog and a reselling clothes on Poshmark. Read on if you want to hear about all the things!

How Crunchy Am I?

  • Thrifting
  • Environmentally Conscious
  • Plant Based Eating

My start to crunchy living was after seeing the documentary, “What the Health?” which prompted me to immediately become vegan. That was the summer of 2017.

Only a few months after going vegan, I was diagnosed with DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma In Situ), which is stage 0 breast cancer. This began my real plunge into learning about natural healing and wellness.

I am no longer 100% vegan. After being diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder my functional medicine doctor told me I needed to get off of gluten. I felt like there wasn’t much left to eat! So, now I am mostly plant-based in my diet but I do eat eggs and fish.

What else makes me crunchy? I have always been a fashion lover and over the last couple of years have learned about ways to love fashion and the environment. I regularly “shop my closet” for new looks and I love a great thrift store find! I’ve also started building my reselling business to a legitimate source of income for my family. I love being able to extend the life of a garment and keep them out of landfills.

Have a closet full of clothes you don’t wear? Why not turn your closet into cash.
